World Cup 2014 – Group Stage

With football’s showpiece event just weeks away, it’s high time for you to get to know when to watch your favourite teams on the pitch. The group stage kicks off in Brazil on June 12 and will last till June 26. During these two weeks we will watch 32 teams playing 48 matches. Most of the 2014 World Cup matches will be played between 13:00 and 19:00 local time. The group stage is often the most exciting part of the World Cup, because all the nations are still involved, and fans around the globe are optimistic about their team’s chances.

There are 14 days before the first group match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup kicks off, so it’s high time for you to get out the calendar and take notes of the most important games. Our complete schedule of the Group Stage matches will help you chose the matches you want to watch.

The opening World Cup match will take place on June 12 in Sao Paulo. At 17:00 we will see Brazil and Croatia entering the pitch and the World Cup will officially begin! We don’t have to remind you of who is more probable to win this match, do we?

On June 13, we will see three matches. At 13:00 Mexico will play with Cameroon in Natal, at 16:00 Spain will meet the Netherlands in Salvador and at 18:00 Chile will play with Australia in Cuiaba.

June 14 will be a big day for fans of Colombia, Greece, Cote d’Ivoire, Uruguay, Costa Rica, England and Italy, as their teams will play their first matches during the World Cup this day. The first two teams to play will be Colombia and Greece. This match will take place in Belo Horizonte at 13:00. Then at 16:00 Uruguay will play with Costa Rica in Fortaleza. Two hours later, at 18:00, England will face Italy at Manaus. Finally at 22:00 a match between Cote d’Ivoire and Japan will take place in Recife.

On June 15 Switzerland will face Ecuador in Brasilia at 13:00. At 16:00 in Porto Alegre France will play with Honduras and at 19:00 in Rio de Janeiro Argentina will meet Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Three matches will also be played on June 16. They will begin at 13:00, 16:00 and 19:00, and will see matches between Germany and Portugal in Salvador, Iran and Nigeria in Curitiba and Ghana and USA in Natal respectively.

The next day, on June 17 we will see matches between Belgium and Algeria, Brazil and Mexico, Russia and South Korea and they will take place in Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza and Cuiaba respectively. To watch these matches turn on your TV at 13:00, 16:00 and 18:00.

On June 18 the first match will be played at 13:00 in Porto Alegre and we will see Australia and the Netherlands on the pitch. Then, at 16:00 Spain will play with Chile in Rio de Janeiro. At 18:00 Cameroon will face Croatia in Manaus.

On June 19 we will see four exciting matches. At 13:00 you will have to decide whether to watch Colombia and Cote d’Ivoire playing in Brasilia, or Italy and Costa Rica playing in Recife, as these two matches will begin simultaneously. At 16:00 in Sao Paulo Uruguay will play with England and at 19:00 Japan will face Greece in Natal.

Only two matches will be played on Friday, June 20. First at 16:00 we will see Switzerland and France in Salvador, and then at 19:00 a match between Honduras and Ecuador will take place in Curitiba.

On June 21 turn on your TV at 13:00, 16:00 and 18:00, as Argentina will play with Iran in Belo Horizonte, Germany will face Ghana in Fortaleza and a match between Nigeria and Bosnia and Herzegovina will be played in Cuiaba respectively.

Three matches will be played on June 22 in Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and Manaus and we will see there matches between Belgium and Russia at 13:00, South Korea and Algeria at 16:00 and USA and Portugal at 18:00.

On June 23 four matches will be played, but unfortunately they will start at the same times. At 13:00 you will have to decide whether to watch Australia and Spain in Curitiba, or the Netherlands and Chile in Sao Paulo. At 17:00 two matches will start simultaneously: one between Cameroon and Brazil in Brasilia and the other between Croatia and Mexico in Recife. Which match will you decide to watch?

On June 24, at 13:00 we will see matches between Italy and Uruguay in Natal, and Costa Rica and England in Belo Horizonte. It may be difficult to choose which of these two matches to watch. At 16:00 Japan will meet Colombia in Cuiaba and one hour later, at 17:00, Greece will play with Cote d’Ivoire in Fortaleza.

Turn on your TV at 13:00 and 16:00 on June 25. At 13:00 you will be able to watch either a match between Nigeria and Argentina in Porto Alegre, or a match between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iran in Salvador. Similarly, at 16:00 you will also have to choose between two different matches: Honduras and Switzerland in Manaus or Ecuador and France in Rio de Janeiro.

The last day of the group stage, June 26, will also make you choose between different matches. At 13:00 USA and Germany will meet in Recife and Portugal will play with Ghana in Brasilia. At 17:00 you can decide to watch either South Korea and Belgium in Sao Paulo, or Algeria and Russia in Curitiba.
