Betsson to expand their market to Latvia

Triobet – the Betsson’s subsidiary – took care of securing a Latvian gaming license, allowing the company to include to its market new possibilities.

Betsson has informed, that owing to this license, Tribet will be able to offer its services in Latvia, simultaneously allowing Betsson to leave the blacklist of the country’s gambling industry.

As for now, Betsson managed to acquire gaming licenses in countries like Estonia, Ireland, Italy Malta and UK.

Betsson’s president and chief executive, Ulrik Bengtsson, said that “When outdated legal structures and old monopolies are dismantled great favourable conditions for long-term profitable growth are created.

“Our strategy is to increase the proportion of sustainable revenue by participating in local licensing procedures as well as increasing strong growth both organically and by acquiring companies in local regulated markets.

“The gaming tax in Latvia is 10% on gross gaming revenue, which is a level that guarantees high channelling and a sustainable system.”
