Illinois’ lawmakers have decided to put on hold the publication of probable legislation materials concerning daily fantasy sports (DFS) in the state.

The bill is one of the projects that were said to be finished until this Friday, but it appears that the final form of the bill will be published a little bit later, as Michael Zalewski, State Representative, asked to prolong the period until April 13.

The aim of the bill is to introduce some changes into the way DFS operators can participated in the gaming industry. If the bill goes through, the state authorities will be able to submit the DFS brands to audits, keep players’ funds separate from company’s finances. The DFS brands will also have to pay fees determined by the state and employ particular security measures in order to keep the players safe.

The DFS issue is currently an important matter across the country, as earlier this week, the state of Alabama joined another states by declaring daily fantasy sports as illegal, while a Colorado House Committee has just begun the process of shaping the bill that would allow a state Office of Fantasy Sports to launch. The proposal is strongly supported by the NFL American football team and other state politicians.
