Michigan online poker bill passed on to the Senate

After overcoming the obstacle, now the Michigan online poker bill needs to take another step and get into the Senate in order to get its approval. However, there is no currently any signal concerning any changes that could be introduced to the online casino bill issue. The bill is now only waiting for the approval at the Michigan House. If the approval happen to be successful, owing to the SB 889 bill, the legalization of poker games via the Internet will be possible.

As the legislative session ends at the end of June, it is not clear or possible to predict whether the Michigan poker bill will pass or not. The Michigan Senator Mike Kowall, however, who is the sponsor of the online casino bill, may help to increase the chances of taking the bill into consideration and help to resolve the issue in a timely manner.

At present, the resident of the state of Michigan can access more than 20 tribal gambling facilities and three commercial casinos in Detroit. The 2010-2012 years were the fruitful years, when the revenues reached a record amount. The accumulative revenue in 2015 reached $1.37 billion.

Once the legalization of the online gambling bill is successful, it will be the first state to legalize online gambling since 2013.
