Switzerland to legalise online gambling

After more than three years of discussions, Switzerland finally approved the Money Gaming Act, which is known as Geldspielgesetz.

The new gambling act in Switzerland joins land-based and online gaming under a single piece of legislation. At this moment, only three gaming operatos who have land-based facilities will be able to set up an online gaming websites. International operators will have to co-operate with local companies to provide its services for Swiss players.

The Money Gaming Act is expected to come into force at the beginning of 2018, but it still need 50,000 signatures. Swiss People’s Party, Green Liberal Party and The Free Democratic Party are against the new legislation laws.
